SESSION 1: Setting Intentions, Identifying Blocks, and Tools for Success

In our first session, we’ll begin by establishing both your personal surf goal and a corresponding “life goal” to guide your journey throughout the program. While surfing is the main focus, the life goal ensures you can keep progressing even if you’re not in the water as much as you’d like. Together, we’ll uncover the primary mental block that has been holding you back.

You’ll also be introduced to powerful tools like visualizations and breathwork. These practices will serve as essential aids throughout your journey, helping you stay focused, calm, and confident as we move forward.

SESSION 2: Understanding Triggers and Creating Actionable Steps

In session two, we’ll come together to share our progress and reflect on our goals and surf sessions so far. The focus will shift to recognizing the emotional triggers that lead to negative behaviors such as avoidance, frustration, or self-doubt. Once identified, you’ll learn to create actionable steps to incorporate in your work plan to address these triggers.

SESSION 3: Processing Emotions and Cultivating Presence

The third session is all about dealing with the emotions that arise as you do the work. We’ll discuss what’s come up in your surf practice and daily life and explore strategies for staying present despite the discomfort. The key focus will be on processing difficult emotions and cultivating self-compassion, allowing you to push yourself without falling into self-criticism.

This session encourages growth by fostering kindness toward yourself while striving for progress, helping you balance ambition with self-care.

SESSION 4: Clearing Final Blocks and Anchoring Your Progress

As we approach the final stretch, session four will focus on clearing any remaining mental blocks that might be holding you back. To solidify the progress you’ve made so far, you’ll learn mindset anchoring techniques, to help reinforce the breakthroughs you’ve experienced. These tools will help you clear any lingering barriers and stay connected to the positive shifts you’ve made throughout the program.

SESSION 5: Reflecting on the Journey and Vision Mapping for the Future

In our final session, we’ll take time to reflect on your entire journey—celebrating the growth, insights, and breakthroughs you’ve achieved since we began. This reflection helps to reinforce your progress and deepen your understanding of the inner work you’ve accomplished.

You’ll then create a personalized “Surf & Life Vision Map” that outlines the habits, mindset shifts, and actions you’ll take to maintain and build upon your success after the program ends. This tangible plan will serve as your roadmap for the future, helping you continue your growth long after the program has finished.

About Me

I’m Lisa Davidsson, a psychologist, hypnotherapist, and passionate surfer from Sweden, with nearly two decades of experience in psychology and mental health.

Though I discovered surfing later in life, it has since become central to both my personal and professional journey. In 2016, I moved to Bali and gradually shifted my therapy practice to focus on surfers. I work with surfers to help them overcome mental barriers and elevate their surf experience to the next level. Whether it’s conquering fear in the water, healing past trauma, or breaking through mindset obstacles, I’m dedicated to helping surfers catch more waves and unlock their full potential.

Surfing, as a high-stakes sport, challenges not only your body but also your mind. As you progress, you inevitably face internal struggles. My role is to help surfers identify the root causes of those struggles and guide them in working through them for deeper personal growth and better performance in the water.

My Approach

The foundation of my work lies in blending traditional psychology with tailored coaching strategies specifically designed for surfers. In my 4-week surf psychology program, I combine nearly two decades of experience with practical, surf-specific mindset tools to help surfers break through the mental barriers holding them back. I guide participants through a process of identifying personal blocks, whether they stem from fear, self-doubt, or past trauma, and provide actionable strategies for overcoming them.

Throughout the program, I integrate techniques like visualizations, breathwork, self-affirmations, and mindset anchoring, ensuring each surfer is equipped with tools that help them stay present, push through challenges, and build confidence in and out of the water. My approach is rooted in empowering surfers to take control of their internal struggles, while benefiting from the shared support of a group dynamic. Each participant receives personalized feedback, creating a unique balance between individual growth and the power of community.

By combining my clinical expertise in psychology with my deep understanding of the surfing mindset, I help surfers foster lasting change, find joy in their surf practice, and apply the lessons learned in the water to everyday life.
